Aside from warding off sniffles and sneezes and wondering if we would ever have snow on the ground this winter, the past couple months have pretty much been a repeat of last year. We hosted our annual Sweethearts Dinner around Valentine’s Day, we decluttered areas of our home, we went for long walks in the neighborhood and we spotted snowdrops in our backyard. The Sweethearts Dinner was a wonderful event as always and this year’s decor included a running waterfall crafted by Daniel and Carolyn. We love seeing what creative ideas will be brainstormed every year!
There were two new firsts for us though. Our tiny niece came home from the NICU for the first time since her premature birth and what a delight to introduce her to the rest of the family and her little cousins!
The other new experience was attending the March for Life in Washington D.C. James and Julianna drove up from West Virginia and met us there. Besides the thrill of being at the March, we took in as many city sights as we could. We walked to the Washington Monument, saw the church where the Scottish preacher, Peter Marshall, was a pastor for several years. We walked by the White House and the Capitol Building and saw the Supreme Court. We were encouraged by the peaceful nature of the event and appreciated the testimonies shared. After the March we visited with James and Julianna for as long as we could before climbing on the bus for home. And more recently, we were able to attend our own March for Life in Connecticut!
As we step into spring and enjoy the lengthening days and buds popping out around us, we look forward to rejoicing in Christ’s resurrection! If you would like to join us for our Resurrection Sunday concert, visit our livestream page and tune in on April 9 at 6pm EST!
“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed,
do all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God and the Father by him.”
(Colossians 3:17)
Wow! Matt & N’gella’s little girl is adorable! I like that waterfall thing too.
One adorable baby holding another! Sweet! So, you were in my neck of the woods for the March for Life! I’m about 30-45 minutes from Washington, DC and lived there for several years.
