January rolled by quietly. We bundled our way through the snapping cold, breathed in the warmth of the January thaw and broke out our shovels for a brief snowy weekend. For N’gella’s birthday, we went on a family excursion to an ice skating rink where we relearned the art of gliding around on ice. We enjoyed an hour of first wobbling, then gliding and finally skimming across the frosted ice.
Family times are special and we enjoy being together as much as we can. We can’t believe how quickly Rachel is growing!
The beginning of the year is always a time to refocus on what’s important and take stock of where we are in our walk with God. The words of an old hymn come to mind as we head deeper into 2020:
O for a closer walk with God,
A calm and heavenly frame,
A light to shine upon the road
That leads me to the Lamb!
-William Cowper
